Cucumbers are from the squash family along with watermelons and pumpkin.
Once you realise the NUTRITIONAL VALUE of cucumbers you may want to start making them part of your everyday diet.


FIBRE

Cucumbers are an excellent source of fibre. 
While one cup of sliced cucumber (with skin) only provides .83g of fibre about 4% of RDV (recommended daily value), it is the accompanying water that makes this such a good fibre source.

In a report from Beth Israel Medical Centre in NY, Dr Warren Enker states   "that fibre in your diet without increasing water intake along withit can cause constipation and bind up the bowels."

When you eat cucumbers you increase fibre and water intake simultaneously.
